Aloha Art Collectors. The fabulous Maui spring weather has allowed all of us plein air painters abundant subjects to capture. I'm so looking forward to my teaching the plein-air classes in Yosemite Park this July.

I have just finished my lastest painting titled "Namalu At Kapalua Bay, Maui". This painting depicts a romantic Maui sunset with the silhouette of the island of Molokai in the distance. The Kapalua Bay Cliff House is nestled above the crashing waves of Namalu Bay.
The 24" X 48" original oil is priced at $13,000.

This piece is available in limited edition giclee canvas print at a pre-published price of $25% off through May 28th 2010.

10" X 20" $425. At 25% off it is $319

One of the more unique art galleries in Maui is Kingwell Island Art.

A mere sixty steps away from Front Street up Lahainaluna Road in the heart of Lahainatown is the quaint art studio and gallery of Jim Kingwell. As a local artist, Jim is surrounded by the magical beauty of the islands and the romance of Hawaii. The cultural diversity of the people and their land inspire the "Romantic Realism" he captures in his watercolor and oil paintings.

Jim has been painting the colors of Hawaii for many years. Warmth, soft breezes, rainbows, tropical birds; exotic flowers and cultural sensitivity are essential elements to his paintings. When Jim is not painting on location you can most likely find him at his charming art gallery in Lahainatown completing a one-of-a-kind original painting.

Daily, our first time visitors and repeat visitors to our gallery tell us how Jim's paintings become part of their fond Island memories. Whether it is Re-capturing Honeymoon romance, decorating their condo, or simply buying a gift, you too can feel the Hawaiian Aloha spirit.

Come in and experience for yourself the cultural diversity expressed in the delightful and moving works by artist Jim Kingwell.
